In Japan, cocaine use violates the Drug Control Law. In March, SEGA announced that it would be updating Kyuhei Hamura's character model and voice acting. The change, however, is partial. Yes, SEGA made a new model for the character, and not even based on scanning the face of any actor, but the movements and lip synchronization remained the same.

Yakuza Studio head Toshihiro Nagoshi previously explained how much effort was required to remove the likeness of Taki from the game: β€œFirst of all, we had to replace the character model and rewrite all the dialogue. But changing the character model is just the beginning: we had to change all the pre-rendered scenes that Hamura was in; Additionally, his face appears on some of the evidence you keep on your smartphone, so we had to replace those textures; and some trophies also had to be changed.”

When the public learned of Pierre Taki's crime, Judgment was filmed from sale in Japan. The film β€œFrozen,” in which the actor dubbed Olaf, was also removed from the shelves. The developers of Kingdom Hearts III also corrected the character's voice acting.
