PlayStation Underground has provided a 16-minute look at the gameplay differences between Resident Evil 3 (2020) and the original 1999 version. Considering that more than 20 years have passed since the release of the original, there is hardly any point in comparing the graphics: they differ like day and night in the two games. But you can compare the gameplay, which is what the video focuses on.
The old game was tied to fixed camera locations, between which the character moved with some delays, cramped rooms and narrow corridors. Despite the huge difference between the original and the new game, the developers tried to preserve many elements: for example, you can meet classic enemies or, as before, blow up the advancing zombies by shooting at a barrel of fuel next to them.
It is worth saying that the original was created for the PlayStation 1, and the remake for the PlayStation 4. For this game, as before It's easy to see how amazing the progress has been in the industry over the years. In fact, Resident Evil 3 (2020) only repeats the plot, being a completely different game both in terms of graphics and gameplay. And apparently, Capcom will not disappoint fans of the zombie action series again.
As the developers promise, the artificial intelligence of zombies in the game has been redesigned so that the dead will behave differently when they meet the player alone or when they attack in a group. The size of Raccoon City in the remake will be larger than in the original game, allowing for different routes to be taken, and the subway system will act as a fast travel hub between levels. There will still be safe rooms where you can hide from Nemesis.
According to the plot of Resident Evil 3 (2020), only Jill Valentine knows about the crimes of the Umbrella corporation, and a secret weapon - Nemesis - will be used to stop her. The game includes the non-storyline online game Resident Evil Resistance, in which four survivors challenge the sinister Supreme Intelligence and try to escape its captivity.
The Resident Evil 3 remake will be released on April 3 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. You can pre-order for 1999 β½, receiving a set of classic suits as a bonus. Unfortunately, Russian localization is only available in the form of subtitles.
