Publisher Paradox Interactive has unveiled a new story addition to its sci-fi strategy Stellaris. It's called Ancient Relics and will soon be available on Steam for Windows and macOS. On this occasion, the developers presented a trailer.

Additions to Stellaris enrich the gaming environment with new content and features. To date, Stellaris has received three story DLCs - Leviathans, Synthetic Dawn, and Distant Stars. They talk about ancient aliens, robots, and extragalactic travel, respectively. Ancient Relics, on the other hand, promises to bring an archaeological component to the global 4X strategy.

According to Paradox, there are two ancient lost Forerunner civilizations to explore in the new Ancient Relics expansion. In addition, the DLC will offer to look for relic worlds and ancient treasures. "Find the ruins of long-dead civilizations on relic worlds to piece together the story of their rise and fall," says the publisher. "Dig up their abandoned cities and ships to uncover the truth, discover powerful relics, and use them to further your own empire's ambitions."

Relic worlds are dormant planets that contain archaeological sites, and their exploration may lead to the discovery of new relics. The exploration of such territories will begin a new story, which can contain from one to six chapters, and the resulting relics can bring significant benefits to the player's empire.

In addition, it will be possible to explore the history of two new Forerunner civilizations: Baol and Zroni. "The former are an overgrown planetoid hive, while the latter are some of the most powerful psionics that have ever existed," reads the description. It also talks about a new type of resource known as Minor Artifacts, although there are no details about them.

Paradox Interactive still not reporting release date or price of the Ancient Relics add-on (previous story DLCs cost about 250 rubles on Steam).
