First Super Mario Maker Released on Nintendo Wii U in September 2015 and gained popularity among fans of the Mario universe for its user-friendly interface and tools. It allowed you to create your own levels for Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros. U and also share the results with others. Adapted version for 3DS handheld console debuted in December 2016. And in February 2019 Nintendo introduced a full-fledged second part of the "game designer", already for Switch, promising a launch in June.

A new trailer for Super Mario Maker 2 has now been revealed and a release date has been announced for June 28th. Players will be able to choose from several editions, including a limited edition. The latter contains the game itself, a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online subscription, a steelbook, and a themed Switch digital pen, useful for hand-editing levels.

Those wishing to purchase the digital version were able to pre-order from Nintendo eShop for either the Standard Edition or the Limited Edition (the latter includes an individual annual subscription to Nintendo Switch Online). However, on the game page in the Russian eShop, the cost at the time of writing the material was not yet called. The regular version of the game will also be released on physical media.
