At gamescom 2020, Microids and OSome studio presented a trailer for the action-adventure game Asterix & Obelix XXL Romastered. This is an updated version of the Asterix & Obelix XXL released in 2003.
Asterix and Obelix XXL Romastered will offer:
- updated graphics;
- the ability to switch between the original game and modern visuals;
- two new game modes;
- new gameplay;
- a new camera and some animations redesigned from scratch;
- dubbing voices of the original game.
The game takes place in 50 BC, when Gaul was conquered by the Romans, but one village continues to resist the invaders. This time, Asterix and Obelix, after hunting for wild boars, found their home on fire. All the friends of the heroes have been kidnapped, but the former spy of Rome, Sam Schiffer, will help save them. In order to save the villagers, the players will travel to various parts of Gaul.
Asterix & Obelix XXL Romastered will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on October 22nd.
