There are quite a few games available for adults on the Nintendo Switch. Publisher Wired Productions and Italian studio Storm in a Teacup have announced that Close to the Sun, a first-person horror game previously released on PC (via the Epic Games Store), will appear on the console before the end of the year. For the occasion, a trailer was released that takes players to Nikola Tesla's spooky ship and focuses on the ability to take the adventure with you on the road to enjoy it in portable mode:
Close to the Sun takes players to an alternate XNUMXth century in which famed inventor and futurist Nikola Tesla realized his full potential and changed the world forever. Players step aboard an epic scientific research vessel that is plunged into a mysterious horror. Playing as the young journalist Rose, you have to explore the vast territories of Tesla's ship in search of her missing sister Ada.
βMy dear sister, I would never set foot on board the Helios if I knew what would happen here. But only by continuing my research could we change the world. And we did it! Just a little different from how I imagined it. You always tried to protect me, now it's my turn to protect you," Ada's voice sounds in the trailer above. We have to understand where she is, what happened, why the spacious halls are empty, and the air is permeated with the stench of decaying flesh ...
Then in the video, Tesla's voice says, "This ship is under strict quarantine. It is a safe place for all those who are sharp-witted and talented enough to push the limits of human possibility. Wired Productions is proud to be able to bring the project to Switch while maintaining an attractive picture. Recall: Close to the Sun uses the Unreal Engine 4 engine. In addition to the already available version for PC, the developers previously promised to release versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One β they will probably come out along with the Nintendo Switch version.
Π Denis Shchennikov gave Close to the Sun a rather low score - only 5,5 out of 10. Despite some external and ideological similarities with the famous Bioshock series, the game did not get its own face. The positives were a pleasant visual style, luxurious interiors of the ship, a well-thought-out "mythology" of an alternative history, and a catchy song from the end credits. But the shortcomings turned out to be serious: intriguing events are not clearly explained as they progress, and due to the similarity with Bioshock, the impression of secondary character is created.
