Recently we cited Bloomberg data that Apple will release four iPhone 12 models this year, with at least two older versions getting a new design in the spirit of the iPad Pro. Now, EverythingApplePro has obtained the CAD schematic for the iPhone 12 Pro Max, rendered it, and even 3D printed it.

Such files are usually sent to accessory manufacturers so that they can create their products in advance. According to the diagrams, Apple's new flagship has indeed received a flat design in the spirit of the iPhone 4 or the latest iPad Pro: with flat, non-curved glass, sharper rounded corners and a smaller cutout for the front camera with Face ID sensors.

Among the changes, in addition to flat design, the following can be noted:

  • the steel frame is made in the spirit of the iPhone 4 and is entirely an antenna - perhaps this will help with the 5G signal;
  • the camera module still stands out strongly, as in the case of the iPhone 11 Pro, but this time it will receive lidar from the 2020 iPad Pro - for better work of augmented reality technologies;
  • the device has a smart jack that also first appeared on the iPad Pro for connecting a keyboard - EverythingApplePro claims that it can be used on the iPhone to support input using the Apple Pencil digital pen;
  • the power button is located much lower, which makes it easy to manage with a large smartphone;
  • the case is almost a millimeter thinner than the iPhone 11 Pro Max;
  • the bezels around the screen are a millimeter smaller than modern Apple smartphones;
  • the position of the tray for the SIM card has been changed;
  • the video also reveals that Apple's new models will use better speakers with better sound.

It is worth remembering that the iPhone 12 Pro Max CAD files are not final, so the situation may change by September. However, based on reports and rumors from various sources like Bloomberg or analysts, it is almost certain that 2 out of 4 new 2020 iPhones will have the same design as the iPad Pro.

EverythingApplePro published the design in coordination with the well-known whistleblower Max Weinbach, which means that the leak is as reliable as possible. Also, Job Prosser, who posted the exact features and launch time of the iPhone SE, confirmed that this is the real design.
