Video: Incendiary announcement trailer for Borderlands 3

As expected, at the PAX East 2019 event, Gearbox Software and publisher 2K Games finally fully announced the co-op shooter Borderlands 3. In addition, the developers showed gameplay footage of the upcoming sequel.

The first trailer for Borderlands 3 contains many familiar elements of the series: a team of four Vault Hunters, the promise of over one billion weapons, large mechs, the mascot of the series - the robot Claptrap, prettier cel-shaded graphics, as well as huge expanses in which to shoot, drive around on equipment and get trophies.

You can also see many familiar characters: Brik, Lilith, Maya, Mordecai, Ellie, Marcus, Tiny Tina and others. The Vault Hunters seem brand new, here's what the trailer tells us about them:

  • there's the Amateur Seeker, who is marked Siren and can spawn six massive arms - the trailer shows her briefly summoning a giant arm while holding an opponent in a containment bubble;
  • a younger Seeker is shown with a mech that she can apparently summon, with other players apparently being able to become a co-pilot; she is also seen riding in an armed wheel;
  • the aged Seeker apparently uses a device that allows him to create a holographic version of himself;
  • it looks like the android or robot Seeker is fighting as a team with various pets.

Also seen in the trailer is a wide variety of locations, including wastelands, graceful cities and swamps; dozens of mutants; giant robots and hideous creatures; a variety of vehicles and in-game items of green, blue and purple colors.
