Control Developer Video Diary: Sound and Music Story

Remedy Entertainment has released a new video dedicated to the upcoming Action Adventure Control. This time the developer diary will tell you about the sound and music in the game. Composers Martin Stig Andersen and Petri Alanko talk about their work, along with Senior Sound Engineer Ville Sorsa, as they explain how game audio interacts with gameplay and storytelling.

An interesting aspect, for example, is the function that dynamically manages the soundtrack. In other words, the player hears constantly changing music not only as the story progresses, but also as part of the gameplay: during battles, the mood of the music is one, while during exploration it is different. Remedy always keeps up with technology, so it will be interesting to see how effective this system will be.

The main enemy of the heroine Control is an otherworldly force called Hiss, which changes and distorts the world around. The task of the developers was to convey this invisible threat, to create a feeling of constant danger in the player. Also, various interactive objects such as glass walls or wooden tables react differently to the player's abilities, contributing to the sound environment of the action movie.
