Art director at Supermassive Games, Robert Craig, admitted that when he learned about the main setting of the game, the high seas, "I panicked a little, because water is a tricky thing to model." However, judging by the video, the developers are doing an excellent job. The behavior of the waves, the animation of the ship, the people on board while pitching - everything looks quite believable. At the same time, the geometry of the water is generated procedurally - at any moment in real time, a calm can be replaced by a storm. The underwater scenes also required a lot of effort, especially the volumetric lighting. Well, the sound was recorded from a real boat that went out to sea.

Man of Medan is part of The Dark Pictures anthology of games, united by the common style of cinematic thrillers. Each chapter is a separate independent work with its own plot, scene and characters. In the case of Man of Medan, we're told of friends taking to the high seas on a speedboat to have fun and dive at the site of a rumored World War II shipwreck. β€œBut the day is drawing to a close, the storm is approaching, and the pleasure trip is about to turn into something much more sinister ... Who will survive? And who will die? the authors intrigue.

The thriller will premiere this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game will be available entirely in Russian.
