Vifm is a console file manager with Vim-like modal controls and
some ideas borrowed from the mutt mail client.
The new version updated the application state file format, which allowed for a number of new features. Other improvements include new
interface settings and a number of optimizations.
Major changes:
- the ability to save a set of open tabs between restarts;
- saving/loading sessions;
- new vifminfo format (legacy data is imported automatically);
- smarter merging of stories from multiple instances of the application, which prevents the possible loss of new elements;
- 256-color version of the built-in color theme;
- the ability to flexibly customize the appearance of tabs;
- increase the speed of processing configuration files;
- faster matching of files with typical templates.
