The Visa company, according to the RIA Novosti online publication, has launched a pilot project in Russia to withdraw cash at the cash desks of stores.
The new service is currently being tested in the Moscow region. The Russian Parmesan cheese dairies and Rosselkhozbank are participating in the project.
In order to receive cash at the checkout of the store, you need to make a purchase and pay for the goods using a bank card or smartphone. Confirmation of the operation can be carried out using a PIN code or a fingerprint.
“Based on the experience of other countries where the cash withdrawal service at the checkout counters of stores is already operating, we are confident that this new service will increase the confidence of Russians in non-cash means of payment,” Visa says.
After carrying out the necessary testing, the new service is planned to be introduced throughout Russia. At the same time, customers of various banks operating in our country will be able to withdraw cash at the checkouts.
It is also reported that Sberbank’s “Purchase with issue” service will begin to be provided in Russia this summer: at the checkout of a store, when paying for a purchase with a card, it will be possible to withdraw additional cash. The service will gradually cover small stores, medium-sized retail outlets and large chains.
