The driver of a Tesla Model 3 set a record by driving 2781 km in one day.

There is an opinion that electric cars are suitable for driving within the city, but they are not so good for traveling over long distances. This opinion has been repeatedly refuted by owners of Tesla electric cars, who easily make long trips thanks to the extensive network of Tesla Supercharger charging stations.

The driver of a Tesla Model 3 set a record by driving 2781 km in one day.

Further proof that electric cars are suitable for long-distance travel is a new record set by Model 3 owner BjΓΈrn Nyland. Driving along the roads of Germany, in 24 hours he managed to cover 2781 km, which is a new record achievement. To replenish energy, BjΓΆrn used IONITY charging stations, which charge the battery much faster compared to Superchargers. The previous record achievement of 2644 km was set last year by German Horst LΓΌning.

The new record holder emphasized that while driving, all traffic rules were observed. Mostly he moved along German autobahns at speeds of up to 170 km/h. Due to the fact that the car was driving quite quickly between stops, the average speed is 115 km/h. For his marathon, Niland focused on high speed and charging the batteries to about 50%, since many stations charge the battery more slowly when there is a significant amount of energy available. In 24 hours, the car required more than 850 kWh of energy, which is approximately equal to 10 full battery equivalents of a Tesla Model 3 battery.
