Volkswagen (VW) announced on Wednesday that it has joined forces with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to integrate data from 122 VW Group factories, machines and systems to improve the efficiency of manufacturing systems and processes.
A joint press release from the two companies indicated that Amazon will help VW connect its factories and supply chain of more than 30 locations and 000 suppliers using the Volkswagen Industrial Cloud data platform.
This cloud platform, VW and Amazon have said, could be made available to other car manufacturers, and specific discussions are already underway with large industrial companies interested in moving to the Volkswagen Industrial Cloud.
