It is for this purpose that the World Health Organization (WHO, WHO) is preparing to launch an official application for Android and iOS, which will contain news, tips, warnings and many other useful information designed to keep people informed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The new app, which is currently scheduled to launch as WHO MyHealth, was originally proposed by the WHO Covid App Collective, a volunteer expert group. The team is made up of former Google and Microsoft employees, WHO advisers and ambassadors, and other industry experts.
Under the current plan, the group plans to launch the first early version of the WHO MyHealth app for Android and iOS on Monday, March 30th. However, because the WHO app is being created open source, 9to5Google was able to obtain an early version of the software, in which they found largely the same Covid-19 advisories that are being distributed. .
Based on the application development documentation, it is planned that WHO MyHealth will offer alerts based on the user's location, as well as self-diagnostic tools to help match their condition with Covid-19 symptoms.
There are also plans to fully track the history of the movements of those infected with coronavirus on Android or iPhone, but due to objective privacy issues, such a function may not be implemented.
