Daimler, whose credibility has been badly damaged by allegations of fraud in connection with the misrepresentation of emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere by diesel cars, continues to deteriorate.

Bild am Sonntag reported that German regulators have uncovered evidence of yet another Daimler scam involving approximately 60 Mercedes-Benz GLK 220 CDI SUVs produced between 2012 and 2015.

For Daimler, these are no small numbers, since before that regulators demanded that the company recall 700 vehicles worldwide due to exceeding the permissible emissions of harmful substances.

It seems that Daimler's fraudulent scheme has remained the same. Special software installed in the GLK 220 CDI made it possible to underestimate the nitrogen oxide emissions during tests, although in real conditions it turned out to be much higher than the established norms.

However, German authorities are reportedly facing a completely new type of test-corrupting software this time around, allegedly installed by the automotive giant in some of its vehicles.

In this regard, the German Federal Road Transport Agency (KBA) initiated the start of hearings on this case. The automaker from Stuttgart confirmed the upcoming hearings. The company has expressed its willingness to cooperate fully with KBA in investigating the circumstances of this case.
