iFixit specialists dissected the flagship smartphone Huawei P30 Pro, a detailed review of which can be found in our material.
Let us briefly recall the key characteristics of the device. This is a 6,47-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels, a proprietary eight-core Kirin 980 processor, up to 8 GB of RAM and a flash drive with a capacity of up to 512 GB. Power is supplied by a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 4200 mAh.
A 32-megapixel camera is installed in a small screen cutout in the front part. At the back there is a camera with four modules: it includes sensors of 40 million, 20 million and 8 million pixels, as well as a ToF sensor for determining the depth of the scene.
An autopsy showed that the smartphone uses SKhynix LPDDR4X RAM. The flash module in the sample studied was manufactured by Micron.
The iFixit craftsmen rated the repairability of the Huawei P30 Pro at four points out of ten possible. An undoubted advantage is that the design of the smartphone uses standard fasteners.
It is noted that many components are modular, which makes them independently replaceable. In addition, the battery can be replaced.
At the same time, replacing the screen is very difficult, due to the need to dismantle many components and the use of a strong adhesive. In addition, during disassembly there is a risk of damage to the protective glass.
