Release of beta version of Protox v1.5, Tox client for mobile platforms.

Release of beta version of Protox v1.5, Tox client for mobile platforms.

A new version of the client for the decentralized protocol Tox (toktok) has been released. At the moment, only Android OS is supported, but since the application is written using the Qt cross-platform framework, porting to other platforms is also possible.
The project code is distributed under the MIT license. Application assemblies are distributed under the GPLv3 license.

List of changes:

  • Added avatars.
  • Added stream support for file transfers, which fixed many bugs in the interface and improved performance (for example, in the file download indicator).
  • Redesigned login interface.
  • Bug fixed: Alert sound and vibration repeat continuously when uploading a file.
  • Bugs fixed: Many regressions with keyboard print text and message list scrolling that were not in v1.4.2.
  • In general, message scrolling has been improved.
  • Bug fixed (partially): Unable to upload a file from the Downloads folder (Android's download manager, not the downloads folder itself) and this leads to crashes on Android 10.
  • The preview of messages in the file cloud has been redesigned.
  • Reworked transfer states: when a transfer is stopped on the other side, an appropriate message will be displayed. Remotely stopping transmissions no longer breaks the UI if paused locally.
  • Changed colors in the application.
  • Added multiple image selection (if supported by the device).
  • Updated Russian translation.
