Information about the preparation of the Kirin 985 chip for powerful smartphones has already been appeared in the Internet. This product will be an improved version of the Kirin 980 processor, which combines eight processing cores with a clock speed of up to 2,6 GHz and an ARM Mali-G76 graphics accelerator.

In the manufacture of the Kirin 985 chip, standards of 7 nanometers and photolithography in deep ultraviolet (EUV, Extreme Ultraviolet Light) will be used. The corresponding process technology at TSMC is designated N7+.
