The release of 4MLinux 44.0 is presented, a minimalistic user distribution that is not a fork from other projects and uses a JWM-based graphical environment. 4MLinux can be used not only as a Live environment for playing multimedia files and solving user tasks, but also as a system for disaster recovery and a platform for running LAMP servers (Linux, Apache, MariaDB and PHP). Three live images (x86_64) with a graphical environment (1.3 GB), a selection of programs for server systems (1.3 GB) and a stripped-down environment (14 MB) have been prepared for download.
In the new version:

- The server build has updated Apache httpd 2.4.58, MariaDB 10.6.16, PHP 5.6.40, PHP 8.1.25, Perl 5.36.0, Python 3.11.4, Ruby 3.2.2.
- Added support for VA-API (Video Acceleration API) for hardware acceleration of video encoding and decoding.
- Additional packages available for download include the QMMP audio player, the Media Player Classic Qt video player, and the Capitan Sevilla game.
- Improved support for wireless networks and printers using SPL (Samsung Printer Language). β
