The company "Basalt SPO" has released a new version of the distribution Linux For educational organizations, Alt Education 11.0 is built on the ALT Platform 11 (p11). The distribution is intended for everyday use by preschools, schools, universities, and vocational schools. The product is distributed under a license agreement, which allows free use by individuals. Commercial and government organizations can download and test the distribution, but for permanent use in corporate infrastructure, legal entities must purchase licenses or enter into written license agreements. Builds are available for the x86_64 and AArch64 platforms.
"Alt Education" allows you to create and integrate workplaces for pupils, students, teachers. The required set of programs can be selected at the stage of OS installation or downloaded at any time from a special meta-package. The distribution provides centralized management of the classroom, automated simultaneous installation on several workplaces, supports guest sessions, can work in a heterogeneous network, is compatible with educational web services and domestic software, works with interactive whiteboards. During the installation of the system, users can choose the Xfce or KDE Plasma graphical environment.
