Linux distribution release Clonezilla Live 2.6.2, designed for fast disk cloning (only used blocks are copied). The tasks performed by the distribution are similar to the proprietary Norton Ghost product. Size iso image distribution kit - 272 MB (i686, amd64).

The distribution is based on Debian GNU/Linux and uses the code of such projects as DRBL, Partition Image, ntfsclone, partclone, udpcast in its work. Boot from CD/DVD, USB Flash and network (PXE) is possible. LVM2 and FS ext2, ext3, ext4, reiserfs, xfs, jfs, FAT, NTFS, HFS+ (macOS), UFS, minix and VMFS (VMWare ESX) are supported. There is a mode of mass cloning over the network, including with the transmission of traffic in multicast mode, which allows you to simultaneously clone the source disk to a large number of client machines. It is possible both to clone from one disk to another, and to create backup copies by saving a disk image to a file. Cloning at the level of entire disks or individual partitions is possible.

In the new version:

  • Synchronized with the Debian Sid package base as of July 7th. The Linux kernel has been updated to release 4.19.37 and the live-config package to version 5.20190519.drbl1;
  • Improved mechanism for updating boot entries in uEFI nvram;
  • Provided default launch of ocs-update-initrd for the restored OS when using the mode ocs-sr (saving and restoring the OS image), which allowed the initramfs to work with different hardware, which is supported in distributions with dracut, such as CentOS. To disable the launch of ocs-update-initrd, the "-iui" option is provided;
  • Sorted entries in the boot menu. An item for increasing the font size for HiDPI monitors has been added to the number of first-level menu items, which is also available via the "l" hotkey. Added additional sections to the boot menu for uEFI - setting up the uEFI firmware and displaying information about the version of Clonezilla Live;
  • Updated search mechanism for local operating system on the first hard drive on systems with uEFI and provided display of the name of the found OS in the boot menu;
  • Added package rdfind to find duplicate files based on content comparison.
