Clonezilla Live 2.6.6 distribution release

Available Linux distribution release Clonezilla Live 2.6.6, designed for fast disk cloning (only used blocks are copied). The tasks performed by the distribution are similar to the proprietary Norton Ghost product. Size iso image distribution kit - 277 MB (i686, amd64).

The distribution is based on Debian GNU/Linux and uses the code of such projects as DRBL, Partition Image, ntfsclone, partclone, udpcast in its work. Boot from CD/DVD, USB Flash and network (PXE) is possible. LVM2 and FS ext2, ext3, ext4, reiserfs, reiser4, xfs, jfs, btrfs, f2fs, nilfs2, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, HFS+, UFS, minix, VMFS3 and VMFS5 (VMWare ESX) are supported. There is a mode of mass cloning over the network, including with the transfer of traffic in multicast mode, which allows you to simultaneously clone the source disk to a large number of client machines. It is possible both to clone from one disk to another, and to create backup copies by saving a disk image to a file. Cloning at the level of entire disks or individual partitions is possible.

In the new version:

  • Synchronized with the Debian Sid package base as of April 28th;
  • Linux kernel updated to release 5.5.17;
  • Provided skipping the line "last-lba:..." for GPT partition tables, which, for example, allows you to clone a 64 GB disk with a 20 GB partition to another disk, 20 GB in size;
  • The package includes the pax archiver and the scdaemon package. The pxz package has been replaced with pixz;
  • Added batch mode (batch), which, unlike the countdown mode, pauses at rc levels other than 0 to run ocs-run-boot-param;
  • Added ocs-live-swap-kernel program to swap kernel and modules in clonezilla live;
  • Added the "-z9p" option to the menu in beginner mode, in which instead of the utility pzstd used zstdmt.
