Release of the Easy Buster 2.2 distribution, developed by the author of Puppy Linux

Barry Kauler, founder of the Puppy Linux project, presented experimental distribution Easy Buster 2.2, which attempts to use container isolation with Puppy Linux technologies. The distribution offers the Easy Containers mechanism for running applications or the entire desktop in an isolated container. The Easy Buster release is built on the Debian 10 package base. The distribution is also notable for working with root rights by default, as it is positioned as a Live system for one user (optionally, it is possible to work under the unprivileged user 'spot'), Installation in one directory atomic updating the distribution (switching the active directory with the system) and supporting rollback of updates. The basic package includes applications such as SeaMonkey, LibreOffice, Inkscape, Gimp, Planner, Grisbi, Osmo, Notecase, Audacious and MPV.

In Easy Buster 2.2 implemented synchronization with the Debian 10.2 package database, Linux kernel 5.4.6 is enabled with the option enabled lockdown to limit root access to the internals of the kernel when working in session copying mode to RAM. New applications pSynclient and SolveSpace are included. A modified version of the NetworkManager applet is used. Improvements have been made to the BootManager, SFSget, EasyContainerManager and EasyVersionControl applications.

Simultaneously prepared by redaction Easy Pyro 1.3, collected from the sources of OpenEmbedded packages by means of WoofQ toolkit. The main differences for the user are that Easy Pyro is more compact and lightweight (438 MB), and Easy Buster has the ability to install any packages from the Debian 10 repository.
