Release of the EndeavorOS 2020.07.15 distribution kit, which continued the development of the Antergos project

Published project release EndeavorOS 2020.07.15, who came to replace distribution kit Antergos, the development of which was discontinued in May 2019 due to the lack of free time for the remaining maintainers to maintain the project at the proper level. The distribution offers a simple installer to install a basic Arch Linux environment with a default Xfce desktop and the ability to install one of 9 generic desktops based on i3-wm, Openbox, Mate, Cinnamon, GNOME, Deepin, Budgie and KDE. Endeavor OS allows the user to easily install Arch Linux with the necessary desktop in the form in which it is conceived in its regular filling, offered by the developers of the selected desktop, without additional pre-installed programs. Size installation image 1.7 GB (x86_64).

The new release includes updated software versions, including the Linux 5.7 kernel, Mesa 20.1.3, Firefox 78.0.2, and the Calamares 3.2.26 installer. A simple and compact Welcome program is included, through which you can perform such operations as clearing the cache of installed packages, installing alternative Linux kernel packages from the Arch repositories, adding buttons to run arbitrary commands and scripts. Of the plans for the near future, the formation of an assembly for devices based on the ARM architecture is also noted.
