EndeavorOS 2020.09.20 distribution release, now available for ARM boards

Available project release EndeavorOS 2020.09.20, who came to replace distribution kit Antergos, the development of which was discontinued in May 2019 due to the lack of free time for the remaining maintainers to maintain the project at the proper level. The distribution offers a simple installer to install a basic Arch Linux environment with a default Xfce desktop and the ability to install one of 9 generic desktops based on i3-wm, Openbox, Mate, Cinnamon, GNOME, Deepin, Budgie and KDE. Endeavor OS allows the user to easily install Arch Linux with the necessary desktop in the form in which it is conceived in its regular filling, offered by the developers of the selected desktop, without additional pre-installed programs. Size installation image 1.7 GB (x86_64, ARM).

In the new release, the formation of assemblies for various boards based on ARM architecture processors has begun. Builds based on Arch Linux ARM and tested on Odroid N2 boards,
Odroid N2+, Odroid XU4 and Raspberry PI 4b, but can be used on other boards and devices supported in ArchLinux ARM, including Pinebook Pro,
Pine64 and Rock64. With the exception of Deepin, all EndeavorOS-provided desktops are available for ARM: Xfce, LXqt, Mate, Cinnamon, GNOME, Budgie, KDE Plasma, and i3-WM.

Of the general changes, updating of versions of programs is noted. The Linux kernel has been updated to version 5.8.10. Significantly expanded the capabilities of the Welcome program, which welcomes the user to the system. The new version has a button to change the screen resolution, update the list of mirrors, change the desktop wallpaper and view packages in the regular Arch repositories and in the AUR. Changes have been made to the installer. Stopped installing the GNOME Software and KDE Discover application managers, which were not used in EndeavorOS but were misleading users.
