MX Linux distribution release 19.2

Took place release of a lightweight distribution MX Linux 19.2, created as a result of the joint work of communities formed around projects antiX ΠΈ mepis. The release is based on the Debian package base with enhancements from the antiX project and numerous native applications that make it easy to configure and install software. The default desktop is Xfce. For downloading 32-bit and 64-bit builds are available, 1.5 GB in size (x86_64, i386).

In the new release:

  • The package database has been updated to Debian 10.4 with some packages borrowed from fresh antiX and MX repositories. In addition to assemblies with a regular Linux 4.19 and Mesa 18.3.6 kernel, proposed AHS (Advanced Hardware Support) build for 64-bit systems, including Kernel 5.6, Mesa 20.0.7, and new graphics driver releases.
  • Updated package versions from Xfce 4.14,

    VLC 3.0.10,
    Clementine 1.3.1,
    Thunderbird 68.6.1,
    LibreOffice 6.1.5 (version 6.4 is also available via MX-Packageinstaller).

  • In the mx-installer (based on gazelle-installer) implemented "-oem" option for OEM-style installation (user account and basic settings are made after the first boot, not during installation).
  • Added a new confirmation dialog for installing and uninstalling applications via apt and flatpak in ackageinstaller.
  • Conky-manager saves system monitor settings Conky in relation to desktop environments and window managers. Significantly extended the mx-conky-data package with a collection of configuration examples for conky.
  • In the MX-Fluxbox window manager, the menu is localized, the design elements are updated, a new vertical application launcher is added, and an interface for configuring desktop settings is implemented. iDesk.
