Proxmox Mail Gateway functions as a proxy server acting as a gateway between an external network and an internal mail server based on MS Exchange, Lotus Domino or Postfix. It is possible to manage all incoming and outgoing mail flows. All correspondence logs are parsed and available for analysis via the web interface. Both graphs are provided to evaluate the overall dynamics, as well as various reports and forms to obtain information about specific letters and delivery status. It supports the creation of cluster configurations for high availability (keeping a synchronized standby server, data is synchronized via an SSH tunnel) or load balancing.
A complete set of protection, spam, phishing and virus filtering is provided. ClamAV and Google Safe Browsing are used to block malicious attachments, and a set of measures based on SpamAssassin is offered against spam, including support for reverse sender verification, SPF, DNSBL, greylisting, Bayesian classification system and blocking based on spam URIs.
For legitimate correspondence, a flexible system of filters is provided that allows you to define mail processing rules depending on the domain, recipient / sender, time of receipt and content type. It is possible to manage all incoming and outgoing mail flows. All correspondence logs are parsed and available for analysis via the web interface. Both graphs are provided to evaluate the overall dynamics, as well as various reports and forms to obtain information about specific letters and delivery status.
All
- Added support for generating DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) digital signatures for outgoing emails. To configure the use of DKIM, a web interface is provided that allows DKIM to be enabled only for certain domains;
- A new system has been added for quarantining deleted attachments, for example, after a virus or malware scan has been triggered. Instead of being deleted, such attachments can now be set aside along with emails for later analysis by an administrator;
- A web interface is proposed for setting the weights of various spam filtering criteria in SpamAssassin. Weight changes are possible at the level of individual rules, which allows you to adapt the anti-spam system to the specifics of the current environment. You can also selectively disable rules that cause false positives;
- An experimental filtering mode has been added at the stage of the SMTP session before the message is placed in the queue ("Before Queue"). This mode is incompatible with the Tracking Center;
- Improved handling of settings and rules in clustered environments. The filtering engine is now informed about changed settings that require a configuration reload, which reduces the number of situations that require a manual restart of pmg-smtp-filter. Change notifications are sent during cluster synchronization;
- The distribution is synchronized with the Debian 10.2 package base. The Linux kernel has been updated to release 5.3, borrowed from Ubuntu 19.10.
