STC IT ROSA has released a corrective release of the freely distributed and community-developed ROSA Fresh 12.4 distribution built on the rosa2021.1 platform. Assemblies prepared for the x86_64 platform in versions with KDE Plasma 5, LXQt, GNOME, Xfce and without GUI have been prepared for free download. Users who already have the ROSA Fresh R12 distribution kit installed will receive the update automatically.
Major changes:
- Updated package base. The Linux kernel has been updated to version 6.1.20 (previously shipped branches 5.10 and 5.15 continue to be supported).
- Updated additional drivers for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Realtek 8188gu, 8192du, 8723du, 8812au, 8814au, 8821au, 8821cu, 8852au, 88x2bu, rtw89 (8852ae, 8852be, 8853ce), rtk_btusb, Broacom WL.
- Improved support for Realtek wired network cards based on RTL8111, RTL8168 and RTL8411 chips, for which a separate r8168 kernel module has been added.
- Updated linux-firmware package. Added rtk_btusb-firmware package to support additional hardware, primarily wireless cards.
- Updated proprietary drivers for NVIDIA 340, 390, 470, 510, 515, 520, and 525 graphics cards. To select and install the required driver version, you can use the βsudo kroko-cli autoinstall.
- New versions of the update indicator and console help (termhelper) developed by the ROSA project are proposed.
- Added support for installation on encrypted partitions without entering a password at boot
- Fixed a startup delay when installing on BTRFS without a separate /boot partition in ext2/3/4 (in such configurations, the functionality of saving the last loaded item in Grub is automatically disabled).
- Issues with the "reboot" command have been fixed in kickstart scripts.
