Release of the Salix Live 15.0 distribution

A live edition of the Salix 15.0 distribution is introduced, providing a working boot environment that does not require installation to disk. The changes accumulated in the current session can be saved to a separate area of the USB drive to continue working after a reboot. The distribution is developed by the creator of Zenwalk Linux, who left the project as a result of a conflict with other developers who advocated a policy of maximum similarity to Slackware. Salix 15 is fully compatible with Slackware Linux 15 with a one-application-per-task approach. 64-bit and 32-bit builds (1.8 GB) are available for download.

Package management uses the gslapt package manager, which is the equivalent of slapt-get. As a graphical interface for installing programs from SlackBuilds, in addition to gslapt, the Sourcery program is supplied, which is a front-end to slapt-src specially developed within the Salix project. Slackware's standard package management tools have been modified to support Spkg, allowing you to use external applications like sbopkg without breaking Slackware compatibility. The installer offers three installation modes: full, basic and basic (for servers). The desktop is based on Xfce 4.16.
