The release of Tails 5.20 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), a specialized distribution kit based on the Debian package base and designed for anonymous access to the network, has been released. Anonymous exit to Tails is provided by the Tor system. All connections, except traffic through the Tor network, are blocked by default by the packet filter. Encryption is used to store user data in the save user data between runs mode. An iso image has been prepared for download, capable of working in Live mode, with a size of 1.2 GB.
In the new version:
- Tor Browser has been updated to version 13.0.4, synchronized with the Firefox 115.5.0 ESR codebase, which fixes 14 vulnerabilities (12 are considered dangerous).
- The Thunderbird 115.5.0 mail client version has been updated.
- To protect against hidden browser identification, loading of the AdGuard filtering list for uBlock Origin, which is tied to the language of the current session, is disabled.
- Problems with activating persistent storage have been resolved and translation errors have been corrected.
- The WhisperBack interface makes it easy to send error messages with the necessary diagnostic information.
