On June 4, the next release of NVIDIA video driver version 550.90.07 took place. Features of NVIDIA 550.90.07 include an improved ability for the nvidia-modprobe command to detect whether kernel modules are already loaded, which resolves an issue that prevented nvidia-persistence from setting persistence mode on some systems. This applies to Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris systems.
Fixed an issue that could cause the X server to crash when graphics applications requested single-buffer renderings when Vulkan sharpening was enabled. The fix addresses a race condition that could cause the kernel to panic due to the inability to release the spinlock.
Fixed a bug that could cause additional X screens to request displays that should have been assigned to the previous X screen based on the given X configuration.
For Linux systems: Fixed a bug when using the OpenGL extension GLX_EXT_buffer_age in X.Org with PRIME rendering offload. Currently the OpenGL extension GLX_EXT_buffer_age is temporarily disabled in Xwayland to work around a bug.
FreeBSD has fixed a bug that causes driver installation to fail when the man page installation directory does not exist.
Solaris has fixed a bug that causes a kernel panic on systems where the system console is not controlled by the NVIDIA GPU.
