RetroArch 1.9.0 game console emulator released

Published new release Retro Arch 1.9.0, an add-on for emulating various game consoles, allowing you to run classic games using a simple, unified graphical interface. The use of emulators of consoles such as Atari 2600/7800/Jaguar/Lynx, Game Boy, Mega Drive, NES, Nintendo 64/DS, PCEngine, PSP, Sega 32X/CD, SuperNES, etc. is supported. Remotes from existing game consoles can be used, including Playstation 3, Dualshock 3, 8bitdo, XBox 1 and XBox360. The emulator supports advanced features such as multiplayer games, save state, improve the image quality of old games with shaders, rewind the game, hot-plug gamepads and video streaming.

In the new version:

  • Added "Explore" playlist view mode to select the contents of the local collection, taking into account the metadata in the Libretro database. For filtering, you can use criteria such as the number of players, developer, publisher, system, country of origin of the game, year of release and genre.
  • Improved search in playlists.
  • Added animation when loading content.
  • Implemented a drop-down list for quick redefinition of keys.
  • An indicator of the current position has appeared in the built-in video player.
  • Improvements have been made to the menu.
  • Much work has been done to reduce memory consumption and disk I/O when performing operations such as loading configuration files and playlists.
