The Finnix 123 Live distribution is available, based on the Debian package base. The distribution only supports working in the console, but contains a good selection of utilities for the needs of the administrator. The composition includes 575 packages with all kinds of utilities. The size of the iso image is 412 MB.
In the new version:
- Added boot options to the kernel command line: "sshd" to enable the ssh server and "passwd" to set the login password.
- Ensured that the system ID remains unchanged between restarts, which allows you to retain the binding to the IP address issued via DHCP after a reboot. The ID is generated based on DMI.
- Added tooltip to finnix command to enable ZFS.
- Added a handler that is called if the entered command is not found and offers known alternatives. For example, typing ftp will prompt you to run or install lftp.
- Added man guide for Finnix-specific commands such as wifi-connect and locale-config.
- Added new package jove. Removed ftp, ftp-ssl and zile packages.
- The package database has been updated to Debian 11.
