The Live image can be burned to either a DVD or a USB flash drive. A permanent installation mode is available, allowing you to transfer the Live environment with all changes to disk (using bsdinstall and installing to a ZFS partition). UnionFS is used to ensure recording in the Live system. Unlike TrueOS-based builds, the FuryBSD project is designed for tight integration with FreeBSD and leverages the core project's developments, but with settings and environment optimized for desktop use.
Issue upgrade to and a fresh package release (2020Q1). The desktops have been updated to Xfce 4.14 and KDE 5.17. A new category for installing NVIDIA drivers has been added to the fury-xorg-tool configurator. The boot menu has been restored, allowing you to change boot parameters and enter single-user mode.
The root partition on the Live media is set to read and write mode.
A fresh package is used to detect the hardware and download the necessary drivers. xkbmap has been added to the base package for managing keyboard layouts.
