A release of the fheroes2 0.9.13 project is available, attempting to recreate the Heroes of Might and Magic II game. The project code is written in C++ and distributed under the GPLv2 license. To run the game, game resource files are required, which can be obtained, for example, from the demo version of Heroes of Might and Magic II.
Major changes:
- A prototype of a special console mode for visually impaired people is proposed.
- Added the ability to get help on rewards and bonuses in the briefing window before the campaign scenario.
- Implemented support for the Czech alphabet.
- Improved algorithms for hiring heroes and building a castle for AI.
- The last heroes of the losing enemy began to behave more aggressively.
- Scrollbars now adapt in size based on the number of items displayed.
- In most of the dialog boxes, players can get help by right-clicking on the image of artifacts, spells, resources, and other items.
- Over 50 bugs fixed.
