The April 21.04 summary update of applications developed by the KDE project has been introduced. Starting with this release, the consolidated set of KDE applications will now be published under the name KDE Gear, instead of KDE Apps and KDE Applications. - Means are provided to control the data downloaded from external sites when emails are opened, such as embedded images that can be used to track whether an email has been opened.
- The design has been modernized, aimed at simplifying work with the calendar and address book.
- Continued development of the KDE Itinerary travel assistant, which helps you get to your destination using data from various sources and provides related information needed on the road (traffic timetables, location of stations and stops, information about hotels, weather forecast, ongoing events). The new version adds the ability to determine the status of elevators and escalators on the map of stations, as well as use information from OpenStreetMap to obtain information about working hours. - When opening new tabs, the ability to configure: open a tab immediately after the current tab or at the end of the list.
- Holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on an element in the Places panel will open the content in a new tab instead of the current one.
- The built-in tools for working with Git, Mercurial and Subversion repositories have added the definition of the root directory of the working copy of the repository.

- Added support for AV1 format in Kdenlive video editor. Simplified changing the scale of tracks by dragging the sliders that appeared at the ends of the horizontal scroll bar.
- In the terminal emulator Konsole added a switchable mode of adaptive text redistribution when the window is resized. In addition, sorting of profiles by name is provided, the dialogs for managing and setting profiles are redesigned, the visibility of text selection is increased, and the ability to select an external editor called by clicking with the Ctrl key pressed on a text file is provided.
- Text editor Kate now supports scrolling using touch screens. Added the ability to display all TODO notes in a project. Implemented tools to perform basic Git operations, such as viewing changes.
- In the Okular Document Viewer, when trying to open a previously opened document, the program now only switches to the existing document instead of showing two copies. In addition, support for files in the FictionBook format has been expanded and the ability to certify documents with a digital signature has been added.
- The Gwenview image and video viewer provides a display of the current and remaining time when playing a video. Provides the ability to adjust quality and compression levels for JPEG XL, WebP, AVIF, HEIF, and HEIC images.
