The most notable innovations:

  • The Dolphin file manager provides the ability to manage access rights for external Samba partitions. Added selection mode (Selection Mode), which simplifies the selection of a part of files and directories to perform typical operations on them (after pressing the spacebar or selecting the β€œSelect files and folders” option in the menu, a green panel appears at the top, after which clicking on files and directories leads to select them, and a panel with available operations such as copying, renaming, and opening images is shown at the bottom).
  • The Gwenview image and video viewer has added support for adjusting the brightness, contrast, and color of viewed images. Added support for viewing xcf files used by GIMP.
  • The Welcome window has been added to text editors Kate and KWrite, which is shown when starting programs without specifying files. The window provides a button to create or open a file, a list of recently opened files, and links to documentation. A new keyboard macro tool has been added to create macros, allowing you to record a sequence of keystrokes and play back previously recorded macros.
