8 years after the first commit and 5 months after version 0.7 console XMPP client . The profanity interface is built using the ncurses library, supports notifications using the libnotify library. The application can be built either with a library , which implements work with the XMPP protocol, or with its fork maintained by the developer. The client's capabilities can be extended using in python. The project code is written in C and licensed under GPLv3.
