Release of antiX 22 lightweight distribution

The release of a lightweight Live-distribution AntiX 22, built on the Debian package base and oriented for installation on outdated hardware. The release is based on the Debian 11 package base, but comes without the systemd system manager and with eudev instead of udev. Either runit or sysvinit can be used for initialization. The default user environment is formed using the IceWM window manager, but fluxbox, jwm and herbstluftwm are also included in the package. ISO sizes: 1.5 GB (full, includes LibreOffice), 820 MB (base), 470 MB (without graphics) and 191 MB (network install). Assemblies are prepared for x86_64 and i386 architectures.

In the new release:

  • Updated software versions, including Linux kernel 4.9.0-326, IceWM 3 and seamonkey 2.53.14.
  • Many Debian packages, including apt, cups, dbus, gvfs, openssh, policykit-1, procps, pulseaudio, rpcbind, rsyslog, samba, sane-backends, udisks2, util-linux, webkit2gtk and xorg-server, have been rebuilt and stripped from bindings to libsystemd0 and libelogind0.
  • Improved localization.
  • Removed mps-youtube from delivery.
  • Modem-manager has been replaced with Sakis3G.
  • Instead of elogind, libpam-elogind and libelogind0, seated and consolekit are used to manage user sessions.
