The release of the lightweight music player Audacious 4.3 is presented, which once branched off from the Beep Media Player (BMP) project, which is a fork of the classic XMMS player. The release comes with two user interfaces: based on GTK and Qt. Builds are prepared for various Linux distributions and for Windows.
Key innovations in Audacious 4.3:
- Added optional support for GTK3 (GTK builds continue to use GTK2 by default).
- Support for Qt 6 has been stabilized, but Qt 5 continues to be used by default.
- Added a plug-in for output via the PipeWire multimedia server.
