Release of music player Qmmp 1.4.0

Published release of a minimalistic audio player Qmmp 1.4.0. The program is equipped with an interface based on the Qt library, similar to Winamp or XMMS, and supports connecting covers from these players. Qmmp is independent of Gstreamer and offers support for various audio output systems to get the best sound. Including supported output via OSS4 (FreeBSD), ALSA (Linux), Pulse Audio, JACK, QtMultimedia, Icecast, WaveOut (Win32), DirectSound (Win32) and WASAPI (Win32).

Main innovations:

  • When using Wayland, the qsui interface is enabled by default;
  • The qsui module has been improved: it is now possible to change the background color of the current track, visualization in the form of an oscilloscope, a function for resetting visualization colors, a scroll bar with a waveform, an alternative view of the analyzer, gradients are used in the transitions between colors of the analyzer, the status bar has been improved;
  • Added sleep mode blocking module;
  • Added a separate module for sending information to ListenBrainz;
  • Added auto-hide of empty service menus;
  • Added the ability to disable double pass equalizer;
  • Most output modules have a quick mute option;
  • A unified implementation of the CUE parser is proposed;
  • Added the ability to switch between playlists;
  • It is possible to select the track list format before saving;
  • Added command line options "--pl-next" and "-pl-prev";
  • Added SOCKS5 proxy support;
  • Added the ability to display the average bitrate, including for shoutcast/icecast streams;
  • ReplayGain scanner now supports Ogg Opus;
  • The ability to combine different tags has been added to the mpeg module;
  • Added the ability to run a command at program startup and termination;
  • Improved support for deleted playlists;
  • Improved m3u support;
  • Support for big endian formats has been added to the PulseAudio module;
  • The ability to record to one file has been added to the recording module;
  • In the ffmpeg module: new implementation of the reading function, support for built-in CUE (for the Monkey's Audio format), display of the format name, DSD (Direct Stream Digital) support, the minimum FFmpeg version has been raised to 3.2, libav support has been removed;
  • In the module for displaying song lyrics, saving of window geometry has been added and support for several providers has been implemented (based on the Ultimare Lyrics plugin);
  • The cdaudio module provides output of more metadata and added integration with KDE Solid;
  • The plugin set has added a YouTube support module that uses youtube-dl, and improved the ffap module.
