Nextcloud Hub, a platform designed to provide a self-contained collaboration solution for enterprise employees and teams working on various projects, was released in Winter 26. Simultaneously, Nextcloud 33, the cloud platform that underlies Nextcloud Hub, was released. It enables cloud storage with support for synchronization and data exchange, enabling data viewing and editing from any device anywhere on the network (downloading participant lists in CSV format, creating, importing, and exporting surveys, using a web interface or WebDAV). The Nextcloud server can be deployed on any hosting service that supports PHP scripting and provides access to SQLite, MariaDB/MySQL, or PostgreSQL. The Nextcloud source code is distributed under the AGPL license.
Nextcloud Hub is similar to Google Docs and Microsoft 365 in its intended purpose, but allows you to deploy a fully controlled collaboration infrastructure that runs on your own серверах and not tied to external cloud services. Nextcloud Hub integrates several open-source add-ons for the Nextcloud cloud platform into a single environment, enabling collaboration on office documents, files, and information for task and event planning. The platform also includes add-ons for email access, messaging, video conferencing, and chat.
User authentication can be performed both locally and through integration with LDAP / Active Directory, Kerberos, IMAP and Shibboleth / SAML 2.0, including using two-factor authentication, SSO (Single-sign-on) and linking new systems to an account. entries by QR code. Version control allows you to track changes to files, comments, sharing rules, and tags.
The main components of the Nextcloud Hub platform:
- Files - organization of storage, synchronization, sharing and exchange of files. Access can be made both via the Web and using client software for desktop and mobile systems. Provides advanced features such as full-text search, attaching files when posting comments, selective access control, creation of password-protected download links, integration with external storage (FTP, CIFS/SMB, SharePoint, NFS, Amazon S3, Google Drive, Dropbox, and etc.).
- WorkFlow — optimizes business processes by automating the execution of typical tasks, such as converting documents to PDF, sending messages to chats when uploading new files to certain directories, and automatically assigning tags. It is possible to create your own handlers that perform actions in connection with certain events.
- Nextcloud Office - built-in tools for collaborative editing of documents, spreadsheets and presentations, developed jointly with Collabora. Support for integration with OnlyOffice, Collabora Online, MS Office Online Server and Hancom office packages is provided.
- Nextcloud Collectives provides an interface for managing, collaborating, and interacting with members in teams, groups, and communities.
- Nextcloud Teams — tools for coordinating teamwork and organizing access to resources, files and applications used by the group.
- Photos is an image gallery that makes it easy to find, share, and navigate a collaborative collection of photos and images. Supports ranking photos by time, place, tags and frequency of viewing.
- Calendar is a calendar scheduling app that lets you coordinate meetings, schedule chats, and video conferences. Integration with iOS-based groupware tools is available. Android, macOS, Windows, Linux, Outlook, and Thunderbird. Event downloading from external resources using the WebCal protocol is supported.
- Mail is a joint address book and web interface for working with e-mail. It is possible to bind several accounts to one inbox. Encryption of letters and attachment of digital signatures based on OpenPGP are supported. It is possible to synchronize the address book using CalDAV.
- Talk is a messaging and web conferencing system (chat, audio and video). There is support for groups, the ability to share screen content, and support for SIP gateways for integration with conventional telephony.
- Nextcloud Backup is a solution for decentralized backup storage.
- Nextcloud AI Assistant is a ChatGPT-style intelligent assistant that you install on your server and doesn't require external services. AI Assistant can be used to generate text in natural language on demand, extract key ideas from long descriptions, create headlines, rewrite text, or translate it into another language.
Key features in Nextcloud Hub 26 Winter (releases are now numbered as "year time_of_year"):
- Transferring user data between devices has been simplified. serversAn application for importing and exporting email correspondence, address books, calendars, spreadsheets, and Deck projects has been added.
- The capabilities for building a federated network covering users from other countries have been expanded servers Nextcloud. In addition to file sharing, chats, and video calls with users on other servers, federated network support has been added to the Nextcloud Deck project planning system, the Nextcloud calendar, and the Nextcloud Teams team collaboration tool. For example, you can now create groups in chats that include users from other servers, as well as grant external users access to project tasks and calendar events. File locking support has been added for collaborative file collaboration across multiple servers.
- When working via the web interface, we've added support for end-to-end encryption of data on the browser side, management of encrypted files in the browser, setting individual access rights to encrypted files, and providing other users with download links.
- Added support for automatic labeling to classify sensitive files based on properties and metadata. Labels are automatically updated when document properties change.
- An option has been added to the settings to prohibit external invitations in the calendar-planner (when activated, invitations can only be received from other users of the same Server).
- Nextcloud Talk now features pinning messages in chats to keep group announcements, links, and reminders visible (you can customize the pinning duration). Support for scheduled message sending has been implemented. Chat now features modes for more clearly separating messages and right-aligning your own messages.
- The AI-powered video conferencing system now supports displaying text transcripts of speeches and translating them on the fly into other languages. Additional settings are available for automatic volume leveling, noise suppression, and echo cancellation when multiple participants are speaking simultaneously. Background blurring in video has been improved.

- AI tools now support AI usage tags for generating images, documents, and audio recordings. AI chat history is now remembered. The performance of locally executed models for text and image generation, speech synthesis and recognition, and translation has been significantly improved. Support for Olmo 3 and IBM Watsonx toolkits has been added, and integration with Recognize and OpenAI services has been provided.
- The new ADA (Accelerated Direct Access) engine is used to manage permissions and access rights when collaborating on data. The engine includes components in PHP, Go, and Rust, utilizes Snowflake IDs, and supports direct file and thumbnail uploads from S3 storage.
- A new HPB (High Performance Backend) backend for Nextcloud Files has been implemented, written in Rust and allowing for an 80% reduction in traffic between server and the client. The HPB backend for Nextcloud Talk, written in Go, has also been updated, reducing server load by 40% and accelerating shared data retrieval by 20%. Resource consumption for thumbnail generation in Nextcloud Photos has been reduced by 40-90%.
