Release of Nicotine+ 3.2.5, Soulseek Peer-to-Peer Graphical Client

Nicotine+ 3.2.5, a free graphical client for the Soulseek P2P file-sharing network, has been released. Nicotine+ aims to be a user-friendly, free and open source alternative to the official Soulseek client, providing additional functionality while maintaining compatibility with the Soulseek protocol. The client code is written in Python using the GTK graphics library and distributed under the GPLv3 license. Builds are available for GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris, Windows, and masOS.

Major changes:

  • Fixed a rare bug related to peer-to-peer connections.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some downloads to get stuck in the "Pending" or "Transferring" status.
  • We fixed an issue that resulted in files not being uploaded to custom directories.
  • Fixed an issue where Nicotine+ tried to connect to the server before port forwarding was complete.
  • We fixed an issue where user settings were reset after an OS crash.
  • Fixed a crash when the directory for the debug log was specified incorrectly.
  • Fixed performance degradation when loading "Download/Share" on OS startup.
  • Optimized scrolling and text rendering performance for OC Windows.
