Release of OpenToonz 1.6, an open package for creating 2D animation

The release of the OpenToonz 1.6 project has been published, continuing the development of the source code for Toonz's professional 2D animation package, which was used in the production of the animated series Futurama and some of the animated films nominated for the Academy Award. In 2016, the Toonz code was open sourced under the BSD license and has continued to develop as a free project ever since.

OpenToonz also supports the connection of plug-ins with effects implemented using machine learning technologies, for example, using effects, you can automatically change the style of the picture and simulate distorted incident light, like in cartoons shot using classic technologies used before the advent of digital creation packages animations.
