Heroes of Might and Magic 2 open engine release - fheroes2 - 0.9.16

The fheroes2 0.9.16 project release is available, which recreates the Heroes of Might and Magic II game engine from scratch. The project code is written in C++ and distributed under the GPLv2 license. To run the game, you need game resource files, which can be obtained, for example, from the demo version of Heroes of Might and Magic II or from the original game.

  • The engine code responsible for sound playback has been completely redesigned.
  • Provided a smooth change in the volume of effects when moving the hero on the adventure map.
