Release of the pre-release version of Protox 1.5beta_pre, the Tox client for mobile platforms.

Submitted by ΠΎΠ±Π½ΠΎΠ²Π»Π΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ Protox, a mobile application for messaging between users without the participation of a server, implemented on the basis of the protocol Tox (with-toxcore). At the moment, only Android OS is supported, however, since the program is written on the Qt cross-platform framework using QML, it is possible to port the application to other platforms in the future. The program is an alternative to Tox-clients Anthox, Trifa. Project Code spreads under the MIT license. Application builds extend licensed under GPLv3.

List of changes since version 1.4.2:

  • Added file transfer in both directions.
  • Added corresponding buttons for file transfer.
  • Added notifications for file transfer.
  • A button has been added that allows you to select the directory for saving downloaded files (by default, this is the directory of the operating system).
  • The main window of the application and the input field have been redesigned, which fixed many bugs.
  • Added "Public Key" field to the user information menu.
  • Some menus will now completely fill the width of the screen.
  • Fixed a bug: the date and time of the message instantly disappears when the message cloud disappears.
  • Bug fixed: flickering of the interface when automatically entering the profile.
  • Added logging (protox.log file in application directory).
  • Updated Russian translation.
  • toxcore version updated to 0.2.12.

The application assembly containing the phrase _patched has a modified version of the toxcore library containing an experimental patch, which improves file transfer speed.
