Tux Paint 0.9.26, a graphics editor for children's art, has been released. The program is designed to teach drawing to children aged 3 to 12 years. Binary builds are generated for RHEL/Fedora, Android, Haiku, macOS and Windows.
In the new release:
- The fill tool now has an option to fill an area with a linear or circular gradient that fades from one color to another.
- Added new "magic" tools: "Pixels" to create pixel art in the style of old games, "Checkerboard" to fill the area with the selected pattern and "Clone" to duplicate parts of the picture with a brush.
- New settings have been added to increase the size of screen elements for visually impaired people and redo the color scheme to work more correctly with input systems for people with movement problems, such as gaze-tracking based navigation systems.
- Documentation redesigned to simplify localization.
