NVIDIA has released a new release of proprietary driver NVIDIA 470.74. The driver is available for Linux (ARM, x86_64), FreeBSD (x86_64) and Solaris (x86_64).
Main innovations:
- Fixed an issue where applications running on the GPU could exit after waking up from sleep.
- Fixed a regression that caused very high memory usage when running DirectX 12 games launched via vkd3d-proton.
- Added an application profile to prevent Firefox from using FXAA which was causing output to break.
- Fixed Vulkan performance regression affecting rFactor2.
- Fixed a bug that could cause the /proc/driver/nvidia/suspend power management interface to fail to save and restore allocated memory if the NVreg_TemporaryFilePath parameter of the nvidia.ko kernel module contains an invalid path.
- Fixed a bug causing KMS (which is enabled by the modeset=1 parameter for the nvidia-drm.ko kernel module) to not work on systems with Linux 5.14 kernel.
