The release of Intel processors by GlobalFoundries does not seem likely

Last week, Intel representatives once again made it clear that attracting contractors to produce products does not imply delegating to them the right to produce central processors of this brand. Persistent site WCCFTech is sharing a bizarre rumor that GlobalFoundries may be among Intel's contractors.

The release of Intel processors by GlobalFoundries does not seem likely

GlobalFoundries was formed more than ten years ago on the basis of AMD's manufacturing facilities, which it transferred to investors. Inspired by such an acquisition, Arab investors first made Napoleonic plans to make GlobalFoundries one of the two largest contract manufacturers in the world, but by the end of 2018 it became clear that the company would not even implement 7-nm technology as part of mass production. It continues to supply AMD with products manufactured using 14-nm and 12-nm technologies.

Site known for its provocative statements WCCFTech reports, citing its own sources, that GlobalFoundries may become a contractor for Intel to produce a limited range of 14-nm processors. Representatives of Intel, let us remind you, in all their comments on such topics repeat that they do not intend to entrust the production of central processors to third-party companies. For this reason, there is no reason to seriously consider the new rumor.
